The 1111 or Balladeer series was a mainstay of the Ovation line-up through the 70s and 80s, and has been released in a number of variations. Ovation were the first production guitars to use fiberglass backs, and brought a number of innovative features never before used on acoustic guitars. Worked for Igor Sigorsky before building his own brand. Ovation guitars were developed by aeronautical engineer Charles Kaman starting in the mid-'60s. It is the "Workhorse" of the Ovation line.
